As MPKP students watched in amazement, the top AR readers from 1st and 2nd grade classes celebrated a first time afternoon limo ride. The top AR students took a ride around Moss Point and headed to Wendy's for an ice cream treat. Dr. Griffin, MPSD's Superintendent, joined the group for the eventful afternoon.

Accelerated Reader (AR) is a computer program that helps teachers and librarians manage and monitor children's independent reading practice. Students are able to pick a book at his or her reading level to read a take a short computer quiz. If a student scores an 80 or above, this indicates that the students gain comprehension from their reading.

The students truly enjoyed the limo ride on a beautiful and exciting afternoon. This venture was a joint effort of Mrs. Bingham, MPKP's Librarian and Mrs. Coleman, MPKP's Principal and was organized by our school counselor, Mrs. Polk. We would like to thank Unity Funeral Home, Golden Gulf Limo Service and Wendy's of Moss Point for their generous donations.

Our students truly enjoyed this treat!
